One-Two, Buckle Your Shoe!

The beautiful flowers Brent gave me for our anniversary

I have the best husband ever!

Snapped a picture right as Ryan Dungey won the final race!

One week ago today Brent and I celebrated our two year anniversary. That's right, two years. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday was our wedding day, other days I can't even remember my life without Brentos. Either way it has been a remarkable two years, in which we have learn more about each other than I ever expected we would, and yet we still have so much to learn.  The actual day of our anniversary Brent had school till late that night, so we celebrated this weekend with Supercross, tacos, and hiking. Brent made me the best present ever; I had found a craft on Pintrest I wanted to make. However, me being my uncrafty self never even attempted the project. Lucky for me I have Brent, who made exactly what I wanted but better by framing a sign that says, "I love you because:" surrounded by pictures of us, underneath which we write on the glass with dry erase markers notes to each other. I love it, and most importantly, Brent and I love each other.

Christmas, New Years, etc.

Well, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years have come and gone, and I am finally ready to start blogging again after being post overloaded with my blogging class, which I had to write for three times a week. It was fun because I worked on a cake blog for my mom (see here) but I needed a blogging break. Here are some of the things we did over the past couple of weeks.

We had a little gingerbread house making contest, sadly we lost!
I was the only one to catch a fish when we went fishing with my family.
Went to the desert to ride the dirt bikes, and had tons of fun with my sweet nephews!
Shot the guns
 Took family pictures
Went rock climbing with Landon and Kate.
Brent belaying
Brent got a new bike for Christmas so we took some long bike rides!

Videos of the rock climbing adventures will follow, and trust me they will be worth your time to watch!

Fall Weather...Finally!

What's new... I am of course late on posting our Halloween pictures! Halloween was great, but the best part of this week is that it finally feels like fall... and when I say fall I mean under 90 degrees. Yay!

On another note, I now only have 17 days left before I take the biggest test EVER, this is the one that will decide if all my years of school pay off and I can get the job I want... so we may be absent for the next two weeks in hopes that I will pass.

Oh, and just for clarification... I was a zebra... not a cat!

Time, it’s a flyin!

Wowzer,Halloween already? I just cannot stay on top of my blog! Basically the past month we have been doing school and work, and interning, and work, and school… that is about it. Today however was noteworthy.  My watch that I had sent out to be fixed finally arrived in the mail after the company that was fixing it lost it for eight weeks. After trying, waiting, going to the store many times and calling a whole lot more my new iphone is finally on its way… and I cannot wait! After having my old iphone for three years it is time for my upgrade, and it has been tough getting a hold of one of those little babies, there is quite the demand for it here! We also carved pumpkins and made sugar cookies with our sweet little nieces and nephews, best part of the day. Brent and I had a special little helper with our pumpkin!
It was some serious planning between these two!

He was helping me cut out our Jack-O-Lantern's face, pretty fun! Oh and I got my hair cut, trying something new with some straight across bangs and a straight down the middle part!

Voila! The finished product!

September 11th

Sorry the picture is so blurry, it was really late.

Last night, around 11:30 p.m. Brent and I were driving home from a friends house, and  9/11 and all that had happened came up in our conversation. I had brought up that around Tempe Town Lake flight attendants had set up nearly 3,000 flags, one for each life lost ten years ago. We decided to drive there right then; a storm had just passed through and the weather was so nice and perfect for walking around the lake. Each flag had a card attached with a name and short explanation of the person who had passed. It was shocking to see all of those flags and names, lined up in rows, covering an entire park. One card that I read had the name of a man who was 34 years old working in the south tower at the time the plane hit his building. His wife was pregnant at the time, they were expecting a daughter. He was relieved that it was going to be a girl, because he believed that if they had a boy it would be just like him, and he wouldn't be able to handle it. His body was never recovered from the destruction after the towers fell. Two weeks later his wife delivered a baby boy, not a girl like they had been told they were going to have. Written on the card was a quote from his wife saying their baby boy looks and acts just like his father, and is the best gift he could have left her. This is just one story I read last night, out of thousands that occurred.

I am so thankful for all of the blessing I have as an American.

Happy Happpy Birthday!

Friday was Brent's birthday. The big 2-5... yep, 25 years old. I am married to an old man. Quarter of a century old. To celebrate we went to dinner with friends, swimming, lunch just the two of us, graffiti his car, ate a giant cookie, went swimming again, ate pizza and cake, opened lots of presents, ate again and ate more cake. Needless to say it was a weekend of eating... diet starts Monday. And sadly, we have no pictures of the events. But did get one of the cake my mom made for him. She asked him what kind of cake he wanted, and he jokingly answered "A pirate cake" (something he had seen on Pinterest). So, She made him a pirates cake. He loved it, it even has a ship on it.

Each layer of the cake was one of Brent's favorite flavors, funfetti, chocolate, and cherry chip... yum!
Brent got lots of presents, and lots of treats... just some of his goods...
Well, school is now in session, again, so back to the real world. Happy Birthday Brent, hope you had a good one!

I have to confess....

I use Wikipedia... that's right, I am an English/education major who uses Wikipedia. Sometimes it just so helpful to quickly google and find an article written in simple words that gives you the quick facts about something. Except for, the other night as I was furiously trying to figure out the meaning of some French Revolution poetry for my final paper for my summer course, I found the perfect post about a poem I was writing about, so I scrolled to the bottom of the page to look at the references, so I could find where the information came from. Low and behold it was my very own professor. I died when I read his name! That is ASU for ya! No getting anything past your professors because they probably wrote a book on it at some point! So then I became curious, how many of my other professors have had that have written books on the subjects they teach.... well, turns out all of them! And I'm not just talking the text book, these people are publishing all sorts of books. Apparently one of my professors even has a series of very popular novels. You win this time professors, guess what you are saying to me really is valid!

On another note, I finished my summer classes this past weekend. I now have a week till fall starts. It is my last semester of actual classes. Yay! My life revolves around school, pretty boring, but hopefully that won't be the case one day.
